Fall
Over the past year your Confed Club Development Team (Club D) has been working hard making new and exciting changes that are being offered throughout the year.
Some of the programs that will be made available this year will include a new off-ice conditioning program and on-ice sessions that will focus on specific player, goalie, and coaching development.
The off-ice program, (dryland) will provide the opportunity for a player to develop their balance, coordination, foot speed, functional movements, strength, stamina, and confidence. This off-ice program will be run by Advantage Sports Rehabilitation and Conditioning, the same team that is part of the Edmonton Oilers Hockey School, out of their fully equipped sports performance centre located at Harry Ainlay High School (4350 - 111 St, Fitness Centre, East wing). Off-ice (dryland) sessions will run from October 2011 to December 2011. The cost of this off-ice program is $35 per player for 5 conditioning sessions. Dates are listed on the Club D Registration form. These sessions are expected to fill up quickly and will be handled on a first come-first serve basis so act fast and register your player!!
On-ice sessions will allow for player development focusing on building a basic skills foundation starting with skills, in isolation, then progressing to skills in combination within session, progressing from session to session. The on-ice sessions for players will be run in two parts, both with the expertise of Don Depoe and his team, as well as guest instructors. Don Depoe is a highly respected coach with a tremendous hockey coaching background which includes a Canadian Championship and ACAC Coach of the Year while with the NAIT Ooks in the 1995 - '96 season.
Part One of the on-ice sessions will be offered every second week starting in October 2011 and running through to February/March 2012 at a cost of $125 per player.
Last but certainly not least, Club D will be offering on-ice sessions for our goalies for Novice, Atom, and Peewee in all levels. The goalies will be divided up on the ice depending on age and experience. Goalie sessions will be lead by the instructors from Gold in the Net. Goalie sessions will start on October 6, 2011at Kinsmen Arena (1979 - 111 St). The cost for the goalie sessions is $125 per goalie.
We look forward to a great year filled with fun, friends, and fitness!
